Mike Carberry is a former campaign manager, advocate, and elected official specializing in sustainability, renewable energy and climate change issues. Now, he works with Bright Future Iowa as its outreach director and is dedicated to letting Iowans know about the local benefits of solar and expanding solar projects statewide.
For over two decades, Mike has been an advocate for solving environmental issues. He was the Campaign Coordinator for Friends of the Earth and would later work with the Iowa Renewable Energy Association and serve as Executive Director for five years. In 2015, he was elected to the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.
He is currently the Vice President Board of Directors for the Iowa Wind Energy Association (IWEA), a Board Member for Iowa Farmers Union, and a member of the Sierra Club, where he won an award as their 2013 Environmental Activist of the Year.
